File this one under “Amazing Moments,” because this reunion is one of the best I’ve seen in a while!
When soldiers leave for deployment, more often than not the hardest part about being away in a strange land is leaving your loved ones back home. And when you’re a soldier with young kids, I can’t even imagine how difficult it must be to be away for an unknown period of time.
We’ve seen how rough it can be for soldiers like this one, who was stationed in California while his family was home in Maryland — and how rewarding it can be to finally see them again. However, the following video focuses not on a great surprise for the soldier, but the one person who was struggling even more than they were.
Petty Officer 2nd Class Laura Endicott has been serving with the U.S. Military for more than eight years as an Air Force, Marine and Army soldier. Yet, of all her time as a soldier, the past five months serving with the Navy out at sea on the U.S.S. Battan has been most difficult, as she had to leave behind her 9-year-old daughter, Leah.
In the following video, we see Leah in school celebrating our nation’s heroes at a special Veteran’s Day ceremony. As an administrator lists names of soldiers close to the students, she was probably expecting to hear about her mom at some point, but what happened next completely shocked the young girl.
Endicott tells CNN in the following video that she was so proud to be part of the special day and help the kids learn about honoring our Veterans.
Aren’t you so happy they caught this on camera? Please SHARE this video to thank all the amazing soldier moms and dads out there for their sacrifices.
